Gogmurt’s Interrogation
He mentioned that Warchief Rippnugget, who you know to be the leader of the thistletop goblins, has been enthralled with SEVERAL longshanks as of late. Specifically, nualia who he describes as a "very angry woman with white hair and weird eyes and a torn up belly". It is her advice that has led him to band the goblin tribes together against sandpoint.
She has 4 dangerous allies. Brutish bugbear mercenary named Bruthazmus (that name is familiar...), a quiet man who wears lots of metal armor, a dark skinned violent woman who used fire to scorch several goblins who got too close, and a half elf Male who seems to be too happy all the time and sometimes plays the flute.
Shelaylu warned us specifically about Bruthazmus - specifically to leave him alone. He’s a ranger from the Nettlewood with a hatred of the elves.
he witnessed the half elf and the torn belly woman "going at it like donkeys" and when he told the chief he got even more angry with him.
begged you to not hurt the goblins, just get rid of the longshanks and the goblin attacks will stop.
nualia seems to be obsessed with a ritual that will "free and bring forth an unstoppable ally".
Weird eye. Goblin left brambles because he couldn’t take it any longer
Warchief Chief Ripnugget infatuated with them (nualia)
They’re leading tribe to assault sandpoint
Assault on sandpoint just the beginning, needed father (dead one) bones for a ceremony
If she’s killed, druid promises that no more harm will come to sandpoint by goblin hands
Goblin chieftain in love, but jealous of Tsuto

The party members head out through the south gate in search of the caravan, and it does not take long for them to find a group of goblins and goblin dogs in full on attack. Two guards were already dead upon arrival, but a cowering merchant and one soldier are making their last stand. Without hesitation, the party swoops in and rescues the doomed caravan although the one remaining guard died before the last goblin fell. The merchant, Sirgus Goldmul was from Magnimar and promised to put in a good word with Vin Vinder on behalf of the party.
Returning to Sandpoint, the party checks in on Amieko. With the news of her dead father and traitor brother, she is in very low spirits. They work to comfort her while Ulfilao reads a letter left for him by Aldern Foxglove. It is a thank you letter for rescuing him, and requests some 1 on 1 time with Ulf in the hopes of Ulf helping him develop more "skills".

Not known for patience, that party decides to proactively scout out Thistletop Island as it is known to be the stronghold for the Thistletop clan and a possible hiding pace of Nualia. Passing through the Nettlewood, they arrive at the island only to find an oversized bramble blocking their way. Piki is able to navigate through some "manufactured" doors into the inner "tunnels" of the brambles but they decide it may be too challenging for the rest of the party. Exploring other options, they consider scaling the 80' cliff down to the beach and enter a small cave at the base of the cliff leading under water. Rukki attempts a near fatal free climb before the party decides to just hack their way into the bramble.
Inside the "bramble tunnels" they encounter a camp of at least 10 downtrodden goblins around a fire. After finishing off the 10 goblins, they hear noises and alerts from deeper in the brambles, afraid they may have alerted the entire Thistetop clan, they make the decision to head back to the cliff and make their way into the cave. Safety first, they retreat out of the brambles and decide to use their climbing gear to scale the cliff and search for a more discreet entrance to the island. Jez, always looking to be the comedian of the group, pranked rukki by slipping some sand crabs into his armor!!
Once at the bottom of the cliff the party makes their way into the beach cave. Rukki wades out into the cave waters with a rope tied around his waist for safety but disturbs an aquatic creature who roars in anger because of the intruders. Rukki and Jez flee in panic!!! Rukki comes close to drowning in his scramble to get away from the creature but sprints off down the beach after Jez. An epic battle ensues where Piki and Ulf fight for their life to kill this Bunyip. By the time Rukki and Jez recover from their panic, Piki is using the last bit of energy she has to provide her companions with an inspirational dance. An enraged Rukki lands a final blow, killing the creature, as Piki collapses from blood loss. Jez channels the spirit of Desna providing some healing to Piki and bringing her back from the brink of death. In true Piki fashion, she wakes and immediately tells her companions of some shiny objects she spotted in the pool of water. Rukki and Piki spend a good hour diving and find some treasure which Rukki (using questionable methods) divides among the party. "Dwarves are greedy and The gold lust hits him harder than 3 doses of acid after a gallon of orange juice on a Tuesday morning...". Exhausted from the battle, the party sets a watch and hunkers down in the beach cave for the night.

Rukki charges the flying demon and is able to restrain her with a grapple. With the demon essentially out of the fight, the party makes quick work of the Sinspawn before killing the demon.
In searching the chamber the party finds signs that this demon worshipped Lamshtu, the mother of monsters. Many signs point to the demon goddess' influences on this ancient chamber.
Now exhausted, the party barricades the door of the chamber to get some much-needed rest.
30 Rova 4717
After a night's rest, the party remembers they had recovered a journal after their encounter with Tsuto and upon review they learn that the attack plans outlined in the journal align with the goblin invasion during the Swallowtail festival. The journal references many of the notorious goblins in the area and it appears they may all be coordinating together. Tsuto also seems obsessed with a woman, Nualia, who may be leading the whole campaign. She is the daughter of the late Ezakien Tobyn.
Exploring the catacombs further, the party encounters a three-armed goblin with a flaming sword, and a flying head with bat wings. Both proved challenging fights but nothing the party couldn't handle. Ulfilao was shocked when the party discovered the remains of his Aunt and Uncle while exploring further. He had returned to town with hopes of reconnecting with them but fate and evil beings clearly had another plan.
With nowhere else to explore in the catacombs, as the only stairwells the partt found were sealed by ancient cave-ins, the party made their way back to town to share what they had learned about Tsuto and the dark catacombs below. Capt of the Guard Janeryus send some guards to be stationed at the cave entrance under the Glassworks and Shelelu heads to Magnimar at full speed to get Sherriff Hemlock to hurry up and return with the reinforcements he was looking for.
Vin Vinder asks the party to investigate a delayed trade goods caravan, and the party jumps at the opportunity as it may buy some good will with Vin (who is not very thrilled with Jez these days).

Catacomb Crawling
This tunnel is creepy, their are strange vibes in the air and the party member hear and see strange things as they creep forward to investigate. They come across a large statue of a woman. The statue is red and looks very angry, she is holding a ranseur and a book with a seven point star on it. It is determined that she is likely more than 10,000 years old and of the Thassilonian era.
When the party arrives at an intersection, Rukki shares a bit of Dwarven advice "always turn right". This advice will guide the party through many intersections over the course of their journey.
Exploring further, they encounter a Sinspawn which they are able to dispatch with relative ease. Upon entering a chamber this a glowing pool at the top of some stone steps, the party watches as a winged demon (Quasit) who slices her own and drips blood into the glowing pool. A Sinspawn emerges from the pool and the party notices the glow of coming from the water diminish.
The Quasit, now laughing, throws her dagger at Pikki who catches it midair.... A fight ensues!

Torn between pursuing Tsuto and saving Ameiko the party decides to rush her back to the Sheriff's office and send of Father Zantus for healing. Ameiko will need time to recover so the party heads back to look more closely at the glassworks.
Inside they find Kaijistu dead and encased in a large glass structure. It appears he was killed by having molten glass poured on top of his body. In the basement they determine the tunnel Tsuto used was an old smugglers tunnel that leads to the beach. On the beach were signs of a goblin encampment and it would appear that Tsuto is in league with them using the beach to enter and exit Sandpoint undetected. Going back and exploring the basement further, they uncover Tsutos Journal along with a bunch of coins and gems.
Catacombs
In the tunnel system, the party finds a portion of one of the brick walls torn down to reveal a deeper more sinister tunnel. As they move further into it, Jez feels a tingle on the back of his neck like someone is watching him, Piki's mind begins to wander and Rukki begins to see bloody letters oozing from the walls in a language he does not recognize.

Rukki, Ulf, and Jez are lighting up the goblins, blades slashing, flasks of oil flying through the air, then Piki mutters something under her breath and a wall of fire appears dividing the room and keeping most of the goblins at bay. It doesn’t take long for the party to realize this is just an illusion but it is exactly what party needs to split the enemy and take them out. A few goblins seeing that they have lost escape out a far door. The party pursues them and finds their way to the basement.
They dispatch the goblins and exchange some shots/blows with a half elf they discover in the basement who they determine is Tsuto, but he takes off down a tunnel. The party tries to pursue but Rukki trips over a body in the dark...it's Ameiko...unconscious and tied up!!

Grim News from Mosswood
The party eats breakfast with Shalelu in the morning and she tells them of the goblin tribes and some of the notorious goblin “heroes” but says that something is off, they are not where they are supposed to be and she plans to investigate further. The party makes its rounds and speaks with Janeryus who is on high alert after hearing the new news. They are making fast friends with him, he is def their kind of dude. Rukki hooks him up with some chew and next thing you know they are both back slapping and cursing like sailors.
The party stops by the Hagfish to see if they Quinn has seen any questionable characters and Bessie (the Barmaid) says there has been one guy, leaves his hood up so it is hard to see his face, sits in the corner and has some elvish features but doesn’t seem to be 100% elven. She hasn’t seen him since the Swallowtail Fest but will put the word out and let the party know if he resurfaces.
They spend the next few days keeping a lookout for anything suspicious and generally keeping a watch over the town.
29 Rova 4717
Trouble at the Glassworks
The party wakes up to Ameiko’s head barmaid (Bethana Corwin) worried about Ameiko. She usually opens the bar and has the oven going before she shows up but today the bar was dark and quiet and Ameiko’s bed looked unslept in. Worse still, is the note that she found from Ameiko’s half brother (half-elf) Tsuto. He is known to be a bit of a dick and was sent to boarding school as a child.
The party heads to the glassworks to investigate and finds the place shut up tight. Piki climbs on the roof looking in a skylight to a room that must be the main production floor only to find mayhem. There are multiple goblins, dead bodies and broken glass everywhere. This was the first time the party came together for an organized assault on an enemy. They quickly put their heads together and formulated a plan. Piki breaks the skylight and immediately casts ghost sound to sound like a dragon breathing fire to distract the goblins. This surprises the hell out of them and pulls them away from their general merriment and mayhem but also makes them hyper alert to the next thing that happens. Ulf busts in a side window in an attempt to quietly sneak in unnoticed but as he and the party “slip” through the window they find a room full of dead bodies, and destruction….and 8 goblins staring at them wide-eyed ready for a fight…..

Running Errands for Hemlock
Hemlock asks them to follow up with a few important (Mayor Deverin, Cyrdak Drokkus, Captain of the Guard) people regarding the current events. In meeting with Mayor Deverin, the party learns more about the history of Sandpoint and she gives them permission to investigate Chopper’s Isle, though warns them it may be beyond their current ability. She also tells them that there is a recent rumor that Kaijitsu is moving back to Magnimar permanently, but she has no idea why.
The party then meets Janeryus (captain of the guard) at the north gate and learns of some strange reports. The goblin tribes of the Hinterlands are not acting right and it has been too quiet in the lands that surround Sandpoint. The goblin attack itself is odd as it seemed strangely coordinated which is unlike goblins. Janeryus suggests that if they want to look for a seedy element in Sandpoint they should talk with Jargie Quinn at the Hagfish. That establishment seems to attract a questionable crowd. Lastly Janeryus tells them of a sighting of the Sandpoint Devil from earlier this month by an old sage in town, Brodert Quink. Rarely are there ever sightings as most people don’t live to talk about it and any signs of it having been present seem to mysteriously disappear.
Finally they visit Cyrdak Drokkus, a flamboyant theater manager who is extremely over the top and very into the town gossip, though none of it seems to be useful. He is currently working on a play “Curse of the Harpy” and after an impromptu audition and monologue, Piki scores a role as an understudy to the Magnimarian Diva.
Returning to Hemlock to let him know that (while informative for a group of out of towners) their errands were quite fruitless, they discover Shalelu has unexpectedly arrived in Sandpoint with some troubling news. She is exhausted as she ran for a day and half to get there, but plans to fill the party in with further details in the morning before she heads out on a scouting mission. They all agree that Sandpoint is not safe, and Sheriff Hemlock heads to Magnimar to recruit reinforcements (3 day journey 1 way). While gone Hemlock asks the party to “make themselves visible” around town so the people of Sandpoint don’t think there is cause for concern. They were, let’s not forget, the saviors of the town during the goblin raid. The party agrees however reluctantly, to let Shalelu do some scouting on her own while they play house for a few days.

With their new mounts, party accompanies Aldern to Tickwood, where they encounter a boar. The hunt is a success though, Ulf almost dies. They do some bonding and they find that Rukki and Ulf have a lot in common, as they both love killing monsters and have both fought and killed giants in the past. Throughout the entire hunt, Aldern is creepily into Ulf asking him all sorts of questions about his muscly arms and asking if he would teach him the ways of the sword and bow. This went on for the entire hunt and continued that night at the pig roast. It was weird.
Ameiko’s Daddy Issues
After the hunt Aldern decides they should throw a pig roast at the Rusty Dragon and share with all the patrons who are present. It is a great time and everyone is throwing back beers and enjoying themselves, and then Ameiko’s father walks in.
Lonjiku Kaijitsu informs Ameiko that he is leaving for Magnimar for good and she is coming with him. He seems extremely agitated, and grabs her arm to drag her out. The party jumps to her defense and she stands her ground and he leaves in a rage cursing her the whole way out.
This is a pivotal moment in the Party and Ameiko’s relationship. She now knows that they have her back and offers to extend the week of free room to a month of free room.

Exploring Sandpoint
The next morning the party is summoned to see Sheriff Hemlock. He is pissed….. Ven Vinder is there and informed Hemlock that not only did Jez try to force himself on his youngest daughter, but he also stole a trident from the store. Hemlock demands that Jez apologize and return the trident at once, he also decides that Jez does not possess the moral fiber necessary to be deputized and revokes his offer.
The argument between Jez and Vinder goes on much longer than it needed to but finally Rukki steps in as the voice of reason for Jez. The party is banned from the general store indefinitely, the trident is returned and Hemlock decides to give the party some mindless errands to run in order to get back in his good graces.

Exploring Sandpoint
The next morning they pumped Ameiko and then Father Zantus for information. They learn that Aldern Foxglove comes from a family that was once very respectable but he grew up an orphan and is currently trying to rebuild his family fortune and good name. His family had perished in a fire at their estate when he was a child.
Sandpoint had its own Unpleasantness some years ago where there was a serial killer (Chopper) on the loose through town, Ameiko’s mother was found dead at the bottom of a cliff and the church burnt down with Ezakien Tobyn and his daughter Nualia inside. The fire was so bad the never found Nualia’s remains, but Tobyns had been laid to rest in his tomb.
They also learned that Mayor Deverin, being one of the founding families for Sandpoint had funded the building of a new cathedral herself….an outrageous show of wealth. They gained most their wealth by controlling most farming and brewing in the region. The Kaijitsu family made it’s coin from the glassworks at the edge of town. Reluctantly Ameiko confirms that her father is Lonjiku Kaijitsu though they don’t get along since she became an adventurer then opened an Inn instead of taking over the family business.
The Valdemars control the ship building guilds and make a pretty penny repairing ships all up and down the Lost Coast. Lastly the Scarnetti family control all the logging in the region, but they do most of their business in Magnimar.
Here is where the party had their first misstep. Jez was confronted in the street by a woman who identified herself as Shayliss and tried to enlist his help at exterminating the rat infestation in the basement of her father’s store. He agrees, but she tells him it is only a job for one and his friends wouldn’t be needed (or invited). He happily goes with her, and after she leads him to a cot in the back corner of the basement at the General Store, he realizes there is not rat infestation.
Before anything can happen her father, Ven Vinder, finds them and demands to know what Jez is doing in this precarious situation with his youngest daughter. Thinking quickly...Jez pulls down his pants and shows Ven Vinder his manhood. Ven Vinder proceeds to beat him the edge of consciousness. As Jez stumbles out of the store he decides to steal a trident.
As the party regroups they run into Aldern Foxglove who insists they come on a boar hunt with him and buys them all horses, Piki gets a mini horse.

Unable to find him they ended up at the Hagfish and tried pumping Jargie Quinn for information. They learned a few rumors about happenings about town. While at the Hagfish they also ran into Naffer Vosk, who as it turns out is a drunk and didnt see anything. Jez attempted to intimidate him into giving them more information but ended up saying more than he should about the things they’ve seen and scared the hell out of him. Hemlock won’t be thrilled that Jez told Vosk about the coordinated goblin attack led by a human and the desecrated tomb/skeletons.
After leaving the Hagfish, they run into Aldern who promises them dinner, but then he doesn’t show.
Rumors - At the Hagfish
Brodert Quink, the town scholar/quack, is said to have spotted the Sandpoint Devil near the beach recently
Katrine Vinder is said to be sleeping with someone in town, and her father Ven Vinder who owns the general store would not be happy about that.

Exploring Sandpoint
The morning after the goblin invasion this newly formed group of misfits decided to explore Sandpoint together. Rukki wanted to make a stop by the docks to check in with Captain Jess, whose ship (East Windbreaker) had been destroyed in the attack. Captain Jess re-affirmed his vow to help Rukki raise and army to go back and destroy the giants that killed his family, just as soon as he had a new ship.
They stopped by the garrison to speak with Sheriff Hemlock and collect Rukki’s reward for goblin scalps. He informed them that Father Zantus had discovered, on his walk this morning, the tomb of Ezakien Tobyn (former Sandpoint priest of Desna) had been desecrated. Hemlock admitted he wasn’t a big fan of graveyards and asked the party to help investigate. Ulf kicked the half open doors of the tomb in only to be confronted by two animated skeletons. Rukki dispatched the skeletons with relative ease while Jez and Hemlock cowered in fear.
Upon further inspection they discovered Tobyn’s remains were missing and the skeletons were left behind to attack whoever investigated. Ulf found tracks leading over the wall that suggested a group of goblins and one human had climbed the wall, stolen the bones and exited Sandpoint the way they came in. Hemlock inferred that the raid must have been a distraction for this thievery.
Regrouping at the garrison, Hemlock gave them permission to interrogate the goblins they had captured. He also told them it might not be a bad idea to track down Naffer Vosk (graveyard keeper) and see if he had seen anything out of the ordinary yesterday. Lastly, at Jez’s request he agreed to deputize Jez if he helped with the investigation and stayed out of trouble. He asked them to keep this all on the downlow as to not cause panic among the townsfolk.
The interrogation was ugly and Rukki was far from kind to the goblins. Vachedi wasn’t thrilled with his interrogation techniques, but ultimately the party learned the following information:
The goblin raid was led by one single ‘longshank’.
The Longshank was on a secret mission and needed the goblins to distract while he went to the graveyard
They were leaving behind a spooky surprise for any other longshanks who went to the graveyard
The party decided not to share this with Hemlock yet.
Not sure who to follow up with next, the party decided to track down Aldern Foxlgove who promised them a reward for saving him.

After dispatching the first group of goblins the strangers save a noble (Aldern Foxglove) from a goblin warchief who was mounted on the back of a goblin dog. Aldern was extremely grateful and promised to repay them before he left town, while Rukki and Piki were more than a little jealous of the attention he showed toward Ulf. At one point in the battle one of the adventurers was able to capture a goblin, but Ulf slit its throat before they could question it.
After the excitement died down the Sheriff offered to pay 15gp/goblin scalp, Savah offered the party members a 20% discount on any regular items from the Armory, and Ameiko offered up a night of free drinks and rooms for a week. The party was also informed that 2 goblins were captured and others flung themselves off the edges of cliffs to avoid capture.
That night, and for many after, Ulf and Rukki spent a good chunk of time holding down bar stools and crushing beers at the Rusty Dragon.

Our adventure begins in the small but hearty town of Sandpoint, tucked away along the Lost Coast. It is the Autumnal Equinox and as is expected Sandpoint is alive with energy as folk prepare for the Swallowtail Festival. Some are decorating, other pushing carts to the square, and still others pregaming at the Rusty Dragon.
The town is full of travelers and adventurers. The ‘Easy Windbreaker’ has pulled into the harbor two days earlier, delivering some exotic wines, cheeses and meats. With construction of the new cathedral being finished mere weeks before, this was set to be a Swallowtail festival for the history books. As the folk descend upon the town square for welcome speeches, the smell of curry-spiced salmon and peppercorn venison mixed with the salt air has the crowd humming with anticipation.
The square before the church quickly becomes crowded as locals and travelers arrive, and several merchants tents featuring food, clothes, local crafts, and souvenirs are there to meet them. The crowd’s attention is drawn to an over engineered stage in front of the cathedral as a well dressed woman climbs the steps, walks to the center of the stage, and looks out upon the people gathered. As the noise dies down the woman begins to speak.
“Good Morning and welcome to Sandpoint’s annual Swallowtail Festival!”
(Crowd Cheers….drink)
“For those of you who are visiting, no matter how far you’ve traveled, I….am Mayor Deverin, and I’d like to personally welcome you to my town. I’m so very excited and am sure this will be a memorable festival. I’d like to thank the good folk from The Rusty Dragon, Hagfish, and The White Deer for donating their food, drink, and time to all of us today.”
(Crowd Cheers…..drink)
“And it would appear that the ENTIRE town is in attendance today if even Larz Rovanky managed to tear himself away from the Tannery to attend.”
(Crowd laughs and the town Tanner goes red and scowls)
“Well we all want to get to celebrating, but first I’d ask for your attention just a little longer. Our own Sheriff Hemlock has some things to go over. Unfortunately Lonjiku Kaijitsu’s speech has been cancelled due to a sudden illness, but Cyrdak Drukkus and Father Zantus have some final words of welcome and then we’ll be under way! So….without further ado, please help me welcome Sheriff Hemlock to the stage!!
(Crowd Claps...drink)
“Quiet down, Quiet down...Just a few quick safety things to cover. We certainly don’t want any issues like we had two years ago…”
(Crowd murmurs and some chuckle)
“If you find you’ve drank too much please just put yourself to bed.
Let’s keep the fireworks away tonight and I implore you to be safe around this evening’s bonfire. Our new cathedral is a lot nicer than the last, but it isn’t fireproof…on that note I’d like to take a moment of silence to remember those who lost their lives in that dreadful fire.”
(Cyrdak cuts in)
“Ok, ok thank you Sheriff Hemlock for that inspiring speech. I know you were all looking forward to hearing from Lonjiku Kaijitsu tonight but surprisingly he came down with a last minute cold.”
(Rolls his eyes and smiles)
“But my name is Cyrdak Drokkus and I’ll do my best to speak to you in his stead.”
“Thank you everyone for all of your support in rebuilding this new cathedral. We all made sacrifices and on behalf of Mayor Deverin and everyone else, Thank you. Even the Sandpoint Theater donated proceeds over that past years and I am proud to say that for all performances moving forward we will continue to donate a portion to Father Zantus’ cathedral. So come on down and see our new production “The Harpy’s Curse”. The lead role of Avisera will be played by the Magnimarian diva Allishanda!”
(The crowd exclaims excitedly)
“And now I would like to introduce the man of the hour, who is here to kick off this years festival…. Father Zantus!!”
(Everyone applauds)
“What a wonderful introduction and that you all for being here. Most of you know how hard it has been over that past years and a lot of you have contributed so much to get us to where we are today.”
“Desna surely shines upon our entire town and all of it’s guests today on the Autumnal Equinox. This is slated to be the best SwallowTail Festival we have had in years!”
(The whole crowd cheers and claps)
“Well you all obviously are ready to begin the celebrations….So let’s not hold things up any longer. Let the festival begin!!
(Cheers and Applause)
Rumors - at the Swallowtail Festival
Farmer Grump claims the Sandpoint Devil, a horse like monster with bat wings, once flew off with one if his prized sows
Sheriff Hemlock shares a long-running, “Secret” romance with Lady Kaye, madam of the town Brothel
The Deverin family was once affiliated with the Chelish resistance, but was forced to flee to Varisia

The White Deer was previously the Black Deer. Renamed after fire
Chicken Wing Eating Contest
Four strangers find themselves involved in a chicken with contest that Ameiko is hosting to unveil the Rusty Dragon’s newest menu item. Ulfilao Salinus, Rukki Sand Stone, and Piki are competing, while Jezorat “Jez” Hernanz is acting as scorekeeper. Piki crushes the competition and she is crowned ‘Sandpoint’s Wing Lover’.
Goblin Attack
As the sun begins to set, Father Zantus makes his way to the stage to recite the Prayer of First Dreaming, to finalize the consecration of the church. Using a thunderstone to get everyone's attention…..
‘A sharp retort, liker the crack of distant thunder, slices through the excited crowd as the sun’s setting rays paint the western sky. A stray dog that has crawled under a nearby wagon to sleep starts awake, and the buzz of two dozen conversations quickly hushes as all heads turn toward the central podium, where beaming Father Zantus has taken the stage. He clears his throat, takes a breath to speak, and suddenly a woman’s scream slices through the air. A few moments later, another scream rises, then another. Beyond them,, a sudden surge of strange new voices rises….high-pitched, titterting shrieks that sound not quite human. The crowd parts and something low to the ground races by, giggling with disturbing glee as the stray dog gives a pained yelp and then collapses with a gurgle, its throat cut open from ear to ear. As blood pools around its head, the raucous sound of strange song beings, chanted from shrill, scratchy voices.’
“Goblins chew and goblins bite,
Goblins cut and goblins fight.
Stab the dog and cut the horse,
Goblins eat and take by force!
Goblins race and goblins jump,
Goblins slash and goblins bump.
Burn the skin and mash the head,
Goblins here and you be dead!
Chase the baby, catch the pup,
Bonk the head to shut it up.
Bones be cracked, flesh be stewed,
We be goblins! You be food!”
The four strangers who met moments before dispatched the goblins without too much trouble!!
